Lassen Park Road - built in the 1920's. "Classic Park Road", made to highlight views. Over the years "have preserved the historic integrity of the road" - no guardrails, steep and narrow.

Road built by the Cililian Conservation Corps.

Established as a park in 1916. Two towns were vying to become the gateway to the park - Redding and Red Bluff. Red Bluff won.

Outside of the park, there were cattle ranchers and gold miners. None of these resources inside the park.

Car brought people to the park, before it took people days on horses. Dosn't think there was a railroad that took people there. Considered the backyard to the Bay Area.
